Wallaby Farm

We went on a tour at a Wallaby Farm last Friday. It was really cool and we learned a lot. They have albino wallabies, red kangaroos, and wallaroos there.

Kenzie wanted to take some pictures. The first several pictures are from her. I think Colie's so cute in this one :)

Some of out group. The man walking by the car is the man who gave us the tour and owns the farm.

Kenzie's friend.

We watched a slide show first that had pictures of a baby kangaroo from it's first days until it's fully developed and ready to live outside the mom's pouch.
Albino Wallaby. This little guy hopped right up to where Colie was standing. Colie was terrified and screamed, which scared the wallaby. Coleman wanted me to hold him the rest of the time we were in the barn :)

Kenzie loved the wallabies and kangaroos and loved petting them. She was getting sad when it wasn't her turn to pet or when she couldn't see very well.

This is a red kangaroo. I think it's the male one. His fur was so soft. Jackson and Kenzie both pet him. Jordan and Coleman both did not want to.

The man was trying to show us the tiny little baby in the pouch. The babies are born when they are smaller than  a fingernail and only have 2 arms and little nose holes. They climb into the mom's pouch and stay there several months (I don't remember how many.) Kangaroos have a baby every year, I think.
We also walked outside to see the rest of his kangaroos, wallaroos, and wallabies.

Random Pictures

We had the Ashlee and her girls (except Kimber who didn't have a half day at school) over to make Halloween cookies. They were also playing costume party while the cookies were baking and cooling down, which is why Alli is wearing a doctor costume.

Coleman loves putting his dishes on the counter after he's done eating. He usually gets mad if someone else does it for him and is always so proud of himself after he does it.

Jackson loves reading with Doug and I before bed. We usually read with him for a little bit after we put the other kids to bed. Right now he loves "65 Short Mysteries you Solve with Science." We also have a math one, but that one's harder to solve. He also loves Encyclopedia Brown, which I also loved as a kid :)

Tooth #6

I told Jordan I wanted to take his picture and this is the look he gave me.

Then I told him I wanted to see the 6th tooth he lost and so he gave me a big smile.

I had been gone when he lost it. Doug told me that Jordan had come up from downstairs and said "Guess how many teeth I've lost?" Doug said, "I don't know, 2?" And Jordan said "No! 6!" and showed Doug the tooth he had just pulled out (while he was supposed to be cleaning. :))

Zoo Boo 2013

We went to Zoo Boo again this year. It wasn't as good this year, but it was still fun. There were less games and no face painting. But the kids still loved being able to wear their costumes and play the one game that was there.  And we all enjoyed looking at the animals.

Colie wasn't too thrilled about his costume at first.

But he warmed up to it pretty quickly. We got a lot of comments about how cute he was :)

Bear Jackson, Ninja Turtle Jordan, Princess Peach Kenzie.

Doug and Coleman looking at the fish.

Jordan and Kenzie playing miniature golf.

Jackson's turn.

Binkyless Girl

At the beginning of October Kenzie gave up her binky on her own.  I didn't know when it would ever happen. She was so attached to it and I didn't want to make her so sad by taking it away. Plus she occasionally would still take a nap with it, and I had said I wasn't taking it away until she was done taking naps. I just hoped someday she would just give it up and realize she was too old for (Doug was more worried than me that she wouldn't because I still have my baby blanket :) But blankets are different than binkies, right?) But one day, when she was having quiet time in her room while I was homeschooling the boys, she had gone to the bathroom and on her way back was telling me something. I wasn't sure what she said, but I thought she was telling me she didn't bring her binky to the bathroom. Later that night when we were getting ready for bed, I saw it in the garbage in the bathroom. I asked her if she threw it away because it had a hole in it and she said yes. She hasn't cried about it at all, which I still thought she would. She did tell me the next few nights that she would scared without it. She sleeps with her unicorn light (that Aunt Cindy had given her for her birthday, right before Kenzie gave up her binky... It was perfect timing!) and that helps her to not be scared at night :)
Sometimes when I give Kenzie a kiss on the cheek when we check on her before going to bed, she smiles. She had been doing it this night, but stopped by the time I got the camera. I think she's kind of awake when she does that, but not enough to open her eyes. It's always so cute.

Such a big girl!

Trunk or Treat

Grumpy Kenzie.

Grumpy Jackson...

We had our ward trunk or treat early this year. The kids played games and then got candy. It was fun.
Skeleton Jackson, Snow White Kenzie, Skeleton Jordan. We hadn't got their official Halloween costumes yet. Jordan wanted to be a banana or an alien and Jackson wanted to be a hot dog, ghost, or alien. But since we hadn't been shopping for one, they just chose from our dress up clothes. We do have a ton.

Pirate Colie posed by himself like this. I thought it was funny and cute :)

That's his pirate stance.

Colie loved the throwing games. He just loves throwing things.

After Jackson's turn at this game, we think the girl thought he was cutting in line to get another turn when she saw Jordan (since they are in the same costume). She said the needed to find someone who hadn't had a turn and found a kid down the line and let him go. I had to tell her he didn't have a turn yet :)

Kenzie knocked them all down on one hit. Colie also knocked them down on his first try.

This is his kissy face. It's how he gives kisses. He's just too cute.

Pumpkin Patch

We went to a pumpkin patch with our friends. We had a great time, as always :)

Jackson lassoing a cow.

Colie wasn't too sure about the corn pit at first. He cried for a little bit and I thought he'd just get out right away, but he really wanted to go down the slide. Jackson helped him get there.

Kenzie, Jordy, and their friend. He looks a little like Colie and at one point the only kids on this side of the corn pit were him and my 4 kids. I kept counting my kids and was so confused because I kept counting 5, thinking he was Coleman :)

Colie loved jumping in!

They all love jumping in.

They also loved the ghost train. Jordan didn't want to look at me.

Coleman and Kenzie having a great time.

My animals. I love Colie's face in this picture :)
Now we just need one more kid to be the last little pig. :)
