Jackson's Birthday Party

Jackson brought oatmeal cookies to school to celebrate his birthday.

On May 12th he had is first friend party. I'll admit I wasn't excited to plan one and was hoping he would choose to just invite a friend to go to something fun instead. But he wanted a party. And so I gave him one. Once he said he wanted a dinosaur party though, I was more excited about it. There's a lot of fun things you can do with a dinosaur theme. He was so excited for it and had so much fun during it. He had 4 friends come. Here's what we did:

His dinosaur cake made of cupcakes. We liked how it turned out.

Jack decorated the party favor bags.

The first thing we did was make fossils. We pressed little plastic dinosaurs into some dough and then cooked them while the rest of the party was going on.

Since the party was close to dinner time, we decided to have the cake first instead of at the end, which seems like the normal time to do cake.

The kids were laughing and having a lot of fun eating. Jack invited 1 friend from just church, 1 from just school, 1 from both church and school, and his cousin. I don't think the one that knows both the church and school kids really knows the other 2 that well so I was happy to see all of them get along well and no one seemed to feel left out or too shy.

When they were eating their cake Jackson told the other kids that we have some hard cake too, meaning we had left over cake from my birthday that had gotten hard :)

Then Jackson opened presents.

After presents they went outside to look for dinosaur eggs hidden in the yard.

They brought the eggs inside and cracked them, finding little dinosaurs inside of them.

Then we went back outside and dug through some sand to find dinosaur bones.

After we found all the bones, we had to dust the sand off of them so we could build them.

After building them they played Brontosaurus Brontosaurus T-Rex.

Jordan started tickling everyone's heads when it was his turn. (Doug does that when we play duck, duck, goose as a family) the kids all started laughing and trying to get away. It was pretty funny.

Then we did some dinosaur puzzles while we waited for the parents to come pick up their kids.

Finishing Swimming Lessons

Jackson was pretty sad when swimming lessons were over. Especially when he found out that swimming lessons were only over for him not the other kids in his class. He's excited to take them again after we move though :). Here's some pictures from his 2nd to last class. The teacher that day wasn't his normal teacher. But he really liked her. He said he did better than he ever had done before. :)

In case you can't tell, Jackson is swimming on his back.

I'm old

I turned 27 in April. There's something about 27 that makes me feel much older now. I remember feeling the same way when I was 17. But then it was a more exciting old :). There must just be something about the 7 because when I think of Jack turning 7 next year, that just seems so old too. But, back to my birthday. It was on a Sunday so we didn't do much. We went to church then hung out at home and then went to Ashlee's house for a very yummy dinner. The night before we went out to eat at the Rock. We got a really yummy pizookie for dessert.

Doug took the kids shopping on Saturday to get me some presents. Kenzie was so excited for my present. She told me as soon as they got home that she got me a Dora book.

She told me a few times she wants to paint with me, but I thought she said play not paint. But when I opened her present and saw it was a Dora paint book it all made sense.

Jordan got me a jar opener. I've already used it several times. I think Doug convinced him to get it for me so he didn't have to open jars for me anymore :)

The card Doug made me.

Jack wanted to get me flowers. He said he saw them when we stopped at Home Depot on Saturday or Friday and decided he wanted to get them for me for either my birthday or Mothers' Day. He wanted to get me real ones, but Doug convinced him to get me fake ones instead so they didn't die. (but really Doug just didn't want to take the kiddos to Home Depot after Target :))

Mariners' Game

We went to the Mariners' game a few weeks ago. It was a really nice warm and sunny day.

Look how cute he is in his baseball gear.  I love the hat especially.

He didn't love the hat at first.

Cute Kenzie. Can you tell she love pink? She's laying on her pillow mattress I finally finished for her the night before when Doug was playing basketball.

The boys.

The boys again.

I wasn't really planning on just getting pictures of just the boys, but Kenzie wouldn't come in the picture. She just sat on the armrest.

We finally convinced her to cooperate.

Jackson and grandpa. My parents got first row tickets in center field this year for their season tickets. Our tickets were several rows back, but since there wasn't any sitting behind my parents we were able to sit there. The kids loves sitting by them.

Kenzie sleeping. She cracks me up.

Doug and Kenzie.

Colie and me.

Jordan and grandma.

My mom was brave and shared her drink with Kenzie. I try to avoid that as much as possible. Especially if there is no straw. I hate floaties in my drinks :)

My dad bought Jackson cotton candy. Jordan didn't want any. Nor did he want popcorn or dippin' dots. He just ate some of the candy grandma brought.

Jack shared wiith Kenzie.

Blue mouth.

Cute Jack.

Cute Jordan.

This was at the end of the game when Kenzie realized that either she had to go potty really bad or that she had just wet her pants.

It's hard to see the score, but the Mariners lost. The White Sox pitcher threw a perfect game. Not one Mariner got on base the entire time. It was only the 21st time in MLB history that had happened. It was pretty excited that we were there to witness it.

Thanks mom and dad for letting us come!
