Family Reunion Day 1

We had our Dance Family Reunion last weekend. We were supposed to host it this year, but because Washington still has strict gathering Covid rules, we decided to postpone ours until next year. Candis offered to host it instead. She did a great job and we all had so much fun! That families that were able to come were: ours, Candis', Tyler's, Darrin's (other than Carson and Damon and their families, and Whitney's husband Quentin), Jason's family, Deveny with Mckay and Brooklyn, and Randy with Donna, Toria and Jude, and Shayla and Konner. It was the first time we met a few of them and the first we'd seem some in several years. It's always so fun to get together and we always miss those who couldn't make it!

We arrived last Wednesday evening. On Thursday we went to Splash Summit (which used to be 7 Peaks). Some of the pictures are from Deveny and Rose.

The kids played a lot of soccer!

Doug and Coleman after a slide.

Doug and Coleman again. At Splash Summit I think they encourage people to have the heaviest person in the front, which is the opposite of Wild Waves. I think it's really weird they have opposite rules.

Doug wanted to ride this ride. He said it was fun.

Lincoln and Coleman had a lot of fun together!

Candis brought shade. It was so nice to be able to cool off under them.

The boys stacked the tubes around each other.

Heatwave

We had the biggest heatwave ever in Seattle the last weekend in June, and I think the hottest temperatures since 2009 (which I remember clearly, since I was extra hot being pregnant with Kenzie :)) We thought we'd be okay in our non airconditioned house since we have one air conditioning unit that can cool down one room and a basement. But even the basement was getting hot. Coleman had baseball on Saturday, and we had a movie night at our friends that night so we decided to go to my parents' Sunday after our church lessons. We put the bunny in the basement with plenty of food and the AC so she'd stay cool while we were gone.
Coleman was super excited to bring his trunk with him. Before his birthday, when he said he was he wanted one, he was really disappointed when I told him he couldn't bring it to Hawaii or Utah. But I told him he could bring it when he sleeps at my parents' or Ashlee's house.

These two played Canasta in the morning before I took them to piano. I went home to feed the bunny and do laundry while the kids were at piano.

After lunch we went to the lake to play. Doug and Jordan went kayaking.

Coleman went out by himself for the first time.

Jack, Cam, Kenzie, Sam, Jordyn

Then we went back to my parents' to swim. I'm so grateful we have both my parents' and the Crabtrees' water to cool down in!

The high was 110! I don't know if it actually reached that temp, but it was over 105 for sure. So hot!

The bunny loves the basement!

Vaccines, Ducks, and a Movie

The boys got their second dose of their covid vaccines a couple weeks ago. They are now fully vaccinated.

Jack and I saw some a duck and her cute little ducklings crossing the road after Dungeons and Dragons. Jackson also went that day to a band practice. A man in our ward has a musical group and invited Jackson to come play keyboard for them. Jackson and his friend Logan just do chords while the two older men play the melody. He had a lot of fun!

We went to the Reno's house to watch Luca outside. It was so much fun!

Baseball Ends

Coleman's games were at Covington Field one Saturday because of graduation at Kentwood.

It was nice to get a good picture of him without the fence in the way.

The assistant coach brought water balloons for the kids to hit during the last practice. Coleman loved it!

Then they had a water fight with the left over balloons.

His last game was payed in almost 100 degree weather! Washington was having the highest heat wave ever. It was so hot and the kids were dragging a bit.

Coleman's team started with 6 players, then one decided it was too hot to play and quit. So then they were just playing with 5. His coach and a coach from the other team played outfield for them.

Harry Potter Party

Coleman had a Harry Potter friend party this year.
Kenzie sorted them into their houses and then gave them each a wand.

Jordan taught Charms class. He taught them a few spells.

In transfiguration they transfigured legos into something new. The kids that came are : Camryn, Holly, Chase, Xander, T-rex, Coleman, Levin, and Ben

For divination he tried to predict what each present was.

We had snack in the Great Hall.

Professor Snape taught them how to make a potion.

Kenzie's is fizzing just like it should.

Jackson told them pixies had escaped in the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom. They had to find and capture them all!

Lastly, the kids had quidditch practice. They dodged bludgers and practiced catching the snitch.

Coleman got a new slow motion race game. It was pretty funny. He and Ben had a lot of fun trying it out!

Father's Day and Coleman's Family Party

We gave Doug is presents before church. We are so glad he's ours! We love him so much!

Kenzie had a whole box of stuff for him: a candy lei, butterfingers she saved from piano lessons, some things she made out of clay, and a card.

We also got him some new basketball shirts.

And a snorkel for Hawaii.

Jordan's card

Jack made this card, copying the card Coleman made.

Coleman's card

The other side of Coleman's card.

Kenzie and Nati facetimed.

Ashlee was getting ready for Sam's graduation party and hung up pictures around the kitchen. We saw this one, and Kenzie wanted to try to recreate it...

She was disappointed she couldn't get her legs just right. But she did good. Sam later told us she was actually leaning against the couch in her pictures :)

There was a boat parade in the lake.

Coleman ready to open his presents.

He's always wanted one of these!

Lots of great treasures!

My dad ready to open his presents!

Happy Birthday!
