Ashlee's Birthday

Ashlee's birthday is today! We celebrated on Sunday. We ate breakfast for dinner and spice cake (that Ashlee made herself:)) for dessert.

Opening presents!

She said she only wanted 1 candle. Hopefully she'll have all 42 tonight:)

Beautiful Kenzie

Kenzie loves to have me do her hair. This time we used the curlers again and she slept in them. They still all came out by dinner on Sunday. We even used hairspray. She had played outside for awhile, so maybe that caused them to come out some.

It's fun to jump and make them boing.

Kenzie always puts her mask on now when her mouth is hurting from her herbst. She has been wearing it less and less as the days go by, but she still usually puts in on at least once or twice a day.

Wisdom Teeth

Jackson got his 4 wisdom teeth out on Friday. He was pretty nervous about it, but everything went perfectly well. The put him to sleep with laughing gas and a shot. He said the laughing gas was really weird and that he felt like he was falling upward. And that he felt like he was floating at the top of the room looking down at his body in the chair. After he woke up, he said that it took him a few tried before he was able to walk, because of being dizzy. I waited in the car and pulled around to the side of the building to pick him up. They brought him to me, and had to help keep him steady. He didn't look too good. His eyes were still a bit dazed looking. He had an ice pack wrapped around his head. And he blood at the corners of his mouth. Plus he had gauze stuffed in his mouth. He couldn't talk much because his mouth was so numb. When we got home, Kenzie and Coleman ran out to see us and they were concerned when they saw him. Kenzie asked if he was okay. When we got inside, Jackson kept pretending like he was going to fall over. I didn't think it was very funny :)
This was the first day. I didn't take a good picture of him, because I didn't think he'd want me to.

Saturday he just played a bunch of video games. He has to take a bunch of medicine. Luckily he didn't have any problem swallowing the big pills (I can't swallow pills very well so I was worried about.) I bought him lots of gogurt, yogurt, Danimals smoothie/yogurt drinks, and ice cream. I've also been making him smoothies and milk shakes.

He hasn't been too swollen. One side is a bit more than the other, but I don't think anyone would notice, unless they saw him regularly.

He looks less miserable when he smiles :)

His pain really hasn't been too bad. Today he said it's been hurting more. But when he takes the prescription medicine, he feels much better. He's also slowly been adding some more food to his diet and is really excited for when he can eat normally again. He really wanted me to make all his least favorite foods while he couldn't eat them so he wouldn't care about missing them. I've just been avoiding his favorite ones:)

Bandon

Every year my dad goes golfing at Bandon in Oregon with some friends. They stay a few days and golf a ton. This year Doug got an invite. Everyone else bailed because of Covid, but my dad and Doug still went and had a great time! (the kids and I are not used to Doug being gone at all anymore so it was extra weird for him to gone 4 days!) They played 4 rounds. Doug the first and the last, and my dad won the 2 middle games. Doug said overall, he was the biggest winner. He has been taking Jackson and Jordan to the driving range a lot since he found out he was going so he could play well. His hard work paid off!
Doug worried the weather would be rainy (it is Oregon in the winter after all:)) but it ended up being perfect.

They were right by the ocean.

This was the view from the hotel.

Pictures

Kenzie got everything she needed to be Hermione.

Coleman has started his Christmas countdown.

The kids (and sometimes Doug) have been playing Among Us and hide and seek Minecraft with Alyssa, Carinn, and Ashton. Sometimes the cousins join us for family minecraft in the evening. Although, since we usually start at 6 or later, it's often too late for them unless it's a weekend since they live in Georgia. It's been fun having them play together. I think it was Carinn who commented about seeing each other again something like but it won't be awkward now because we know each other. :)

Kenzie started Young Women's this year! Crazy! I was also just put in the presidency as the 1st counselor. We had our first zoom meeting on Sunday and yesterday we had our first zoom activity night. We have a very small group that comes (we only had 3 one each zoom call) but hopefully we'll convince more to join us :)

This picture was from a while ago (you can see Kenzie has her Band-Aid from her stitches!) but I don't think I ever posted it. It's Kenzie and her friends Holly and Lydia during cooking class, making Muddy Buddies!

Kenzie got a Herbst in he mouth on Tuesday. So far she hates it, but hopefully once she gets used to it and her mouth stops hurting she won't mind it as much. And next year when it comes out I'm sure she'll be happy she had it!

Hair!

Many years ago, when we stayed at Darrin and Shawnee's house Shawnee put these curlers in Daisy's hair, and the next morning her hair was so cute. Since then I've wanted to try them in Kenzie's hair. I finally got some for Christmas, and we tried them out the next week.
I think they make her look like a Lala Loopsy.

We didn't have quite enough, so we braided the last part.

We took them out several hours later, and they looked beautiful!

The back

Cam was with us that weekend too.

A few days later, we tried her new curling iron.

We really liked how her hair turned out, and it was easy to use. I've never been very good at curling hair, so we were happy it looked good :)

Jordan did his hair and dressed up one day. He looked so handsome!

New Years Fun

We spent the first half of the day at my parents' house. We didn't stay too late since we had to get home to the bunny.
Coleman watching Grandpa working on the Hearts or Chess spreadsheet.

They played Hearts.

My mom found this shirt at Wal-Mart. It's perfect for me :)
