Happy Birthday Jordan

Jordan turned 11 this year!
He actually opened his presents the night before his birthday because Doug had to work on his birthday and we had soccer, activity days, volleybal, and young men's in the evening.

Poor Jackson was sick.

He got Heely's.

And Harry Potter Legos!

And a new dresser to build by himself (with help if needed.)

We are becoming a Heely family :)

Mackenzie and Coleman wanted to help decorate.

Jordan wanted to play video games when he got up on his birthday. Here is playing cookie clicker. A weird game where you just click on the cookie to see how many clicks you can get. And then I think you can buy things with the clicks.

Then we went to Chuck E. Cheese.

It had been awhile since we've been there so the kids were extra excited.

Jordan hit the jackpot and got 250 tickets!

They were only kids there to dance with Chuck E.

Kenzie got the jackpot too! Jackson did too! It was a lucky day!

Jordan got 10 Airheads. He was only  supposed to get 8 I think, but the lady just gave him 10. He was so happy!

Kenzie got a stuffed animal and some candy.

Coleman had lots of tickets to munch. He had a bunch left over from when he went with Doug awhile ago. He didn't spend any of his tickets yet. He's saving for a bigger prize.

Jackson got 10 Airheads too.

We thought Chuck E. Cheese opened at 10, but when we got there around 10:30 we found that it didn't open until 11. Rather than sitting in the car for a half hour or going home, we decided to go to Target. The boys bought some Pokemon card sets. Jordan was excited to look through his new ones and organize them when we got home.

Then Jackson and Jordan played Pokemon.

Jordan chose Peanut Butter Bars for his treat.

The day after Jordan's birthday we went to the Family Fun Center to play miniature golf.

It was such a great birthday for him. We loved celebrating him and are so happy he's in our family!

Here are a few things about him:
He's helpful.
He loves camping.
He enjoys working outside.
He loves Harry Potter. He's read the books 3-4 times.
He loves knitting and crocheting.
He loves soccer.
He's happy and easy going.
He loves math.
He's quick to forgive.
He's sweet and loving.
He's curious.
He loves building things.
He likes figuring out how things work.
He likes basketball.
He's great at playing the piano.
He loves Pokemon.
He puts off doing is daily work as much as possible.
If we can make his work into some kind of game it helps motivate him to get it done.
He loves video games.
He's so smart.
He's a great kid!
We love him so much!

Soccer Starts

Now that basketball is (mostly) over, soccer has started. Jackson had his first practice Tuesday. It was beautiful and sunny, but freezing. Yesterday Jordan and Mackenzie had practice and it was snowing and so cold. I'm disappointed I didn't get a picture. But I wasn't there very long because I had a volleyball game, so Doug had to stay.

6 Basketball Games

On Saturday we had 6 basketball games! And the crazy part was that none of them overlapped!
First up was Jordan

He made a 3 pointer! His first one!

Jordan also had the second game. We had to run home in between for a quick lunch.

Kenzie was working on her shot. She shoots 2 handed, and is trying to get better at shooting one handed.

Next was Coleman! He always has a smile on his face when he plays and often skips down the court.

Jackson had game number 4. This was Jack's last game.

Coleman had game number 5. The boy that he was guarding (to the left of him) was in the same ward as us when they were born. They are only a couple weeks apart in age. It's always fun to run into them at sports. Coleman and Chase often end up guarding each other because they are about the same size :)

Mackenzie's game was last. She played the really hard, intense team. Her team lost, but they played really well. At half time the score was 1-2. They ended up losing by about 10-15, but still played well. It was Kenzie's last game. Jordan and Coleman have games next week to make up for the games they missed when it snowed.

Bedtime Reading

Coleman loves for us to read him books before bed, especially space ones.

Point Defiance Zoo

We went to the Point Defiance Zoo with a bunch of homeschool friends last Friday even though it was cold and rainy (we even saw a little bit of snow falling). Luckily the zoo has a new, fun aquarium, so we were able to spend a lot of time inside keeping warm. Plus most of the animal exhibits have an inside viewing area.

Mackenzie wanted to wear Coleman's old coat, even though it didn't have a hood and is a little small. I tried to convince her to wear her coat, but she told me she brought a hat. Apparently she left the hat in the car, so her head was soaked by the time we got back to the car that afternoon.

Touching an armadillo.

Jordan and the giant walrus.

Mackenzie, Phoenix, Coleman, Lauren, Eden looking at the puffins.

Valentine's Day

We had a great Valentine's Day, although the kids thought they shouldn't have to do their tasks and homeschool because it was a holiday. We got the kids a big bag of candy and a love note.

He got Cinnamon Toast Crunch instead of candy.

Kenzie and Jackson gave everyone valentines too. It was sweet watching them try to find something to give/make their siblings :)
