12th Anniversary

Doug and I went to Vacouver B.C. for our anniversary this year. We were there Saturday-Wednesday. The kids stayed with my parents and loved every minute of it:)

The first night we got there we ate at a place called Eat Me Thai. It was delicious! We tried to go back our last night there, but it wasn't open Tuesday nights :( I want to go back to Vancouver just to eat here again.
This was our actual anniversary. It was Sunday so we didn't do much. We walked to a Mexican place for lunch. And we went to a Moroccan restaurant for dinner (I think that's where we went.) The Mexican was really good, but The Moroccan was just okay. Doug liked it more than I did, I think.

On Monday we went to the Vancouver Aquarium. It was expensive, small, but still a lot of fun :) The dolphins were my favorite part. We saw 2 "shows" which were just training sessions we got to watch, but were really fun. I love watching dolphins jump out of the water.

There were also otters. They had shows for several of the animals, but none were as cool as the dolphins.

We learned that otters skin is only attached to their bodies in a few places so it fits really loosely on their bodies. They like to hide food in their armpits, under their skin to save for later.

We also walked around Stanley Park.

I thought it was pretty funny that there was a Chevron in the middle of the water.

We kept seeing black squirrels, which are called Douglas squirrels, so we had to take a pictures. Too bad I couldn't get on with Doug and the douglas squirrel :)

That night we ate at a mall, and then saw Gifted. We were planning on seeing Guardians of the Galaxy, but since Doug didn't have any internet access on his phone because we were in Canada (and I never do:)) we couldn't check movie times. We decided to just go to the theater that was in a mall and we could eat and shop until the movie started, but when we got there we saw that it wasn't even playing at that theater. It just came out that weekend so we assumed it would be at all theaters. We had already paid for parking so we decided to see Gifted instead. We liked it, so it all worked out in the end :)

The next day we went to Science World.  It was pretty fun. It will be fun to take the kids there someday. We got in free with our Science Center membership.
I beat this brain teaser.

There was a laser harp. There were no strings, just lasers. But it still played music. It was pretty fascinating.

That night we went to another theater that actually was playing Guardians of the Galaxy and watched it. We liked it too:)

We also went to a thai place that night, that was okay. We didn't really love it though. Plus this was the night we tried to go to Eat Me Thai, but it wasn't open. So we extra disappointed.

I also read a lot that weekend and Doug played Zelda. It was nice to get away and enjoy being together for a few days:)

Last Day of Soccer

Mackenzie was the last to have a soccer game since she had some games to make up.

Coach Eric giving Kenzie her medal.

Kenzie loved playing on this team! She had a great season. She played defense pretty much the whole time, but still scored 2 goal while being on defense. She can't decide if she likes stopping goals or scoring goals more :)  She's so much fun to watch!

Sunshine to Thunderstorms

We had a sprinkler day at co-op because it was the first hot and sunny we had.

Kenzie and Athena

After co-op the kids wanted to make snow cones.

By 4:00 it looked like this. It's hard to see the rain in this picture.

You can see the rain drops in the pond.

Mackenzie was supposed to have a soccer game that night, but it got cancelled right before it was supposed to start because there was so much lightning.

Sunny Soccer Practice

Kenzie's last soccer practice was actually sunny. It was so nice to finally have a warm one. The rest of hers were either rainy or windy. Or both.
This was the only practice any of the boys had to come to. Coleman came because Jack and Jordan had scouts from 5-6.

She was so hot she kept pouring water on her head.
