Sledding

We met some friends at Hyak Sno-park to got sledding. We had so much fun. I was worried Mackenzie wouldn't love it, but she did most of the time. She didn't like when her hands were cold, but as long as we were sledding they stayed warm. Jackson never wanted to leave. Jordan and Coleman loved it, but were okay when it was time to go. Coleman and Kenzie were both crying on our last walk up the hill because they wanted to go home. Some snow blew in their faces the last time we went down the hill and they didn't like it.

We brought Jackson's snowboard hoping he could use it, but the sign said no snow boards. Jordan had to read the sign to make sure I was telling the truth :)

Mackenzie was a little nervous about sledding. She would only go down with other people. She tried once by herself and hated it.

She was tired of walking up the hill. She said she wished there was an elevator :)

Greatest Asprirations

Doug asked Jackson and Jordan what their greatest aspirations are.

Jackson: To be a soccer player and play in the World Cup.
Jordan: To be a builder and to play city basketball :)

January Random Pictures

He loves playing the computer. I got new headphones for Christmas so the kids can use the computer with distracting those who are doing homeschool.

Doug and Jordan built an engine.

Kenzie set up a chair for her animal so they could watch TV together.

I started making this quilt over 2 years ago, but couldn't find backing that I liked. I finally just bought some at Joann's the day after Thanksgiving since it was on sale. I finished sewing it all together last week. It turn out as good as I would have liked, but I still like it. I was disappointed when I first spread it out after finishing because I had to cut off some of the letters on the sides and it doesn't really lay flat in some places. But when the kids saw it they were so excited about it and said it was so good. Jackson told me it looked like it could have come from the Mariners' store :)

Homeschool Pictures

Here's some of the homeschool things we did in January
Jackson doing a Jackson Pollock style painting.

Jordan's turn. I didn't let them do it at the same time. I'm sure they would have gotten into a paint fight, which likely would have turned into a real fight.

They created their own hats.

We went to the Science Center on Martin Luther King Jr. day with some friends. It was the craziest I have ever seen it. It was model train day so apparently everyone wanted to see them.

The kids wanted me to take a picture of this to show Doug. I never did show it to him. But now he can see it :)

They controlled a couple of the trains.

They rode a train too.

They painted watermelons (except Coleman who said he couldn't do it.)

This is Jackson's

They tested gummy bears, swedish fish, and butterscotch chips to see which would melt.

They painted blue dogs (a friend was over too so he did it with them)

I love seeing their personalities come out through their artwork.

The Old House

We went to visit our old house on Sunday. Our renters just moved out and we're planning on selling it now. The kids always want to go in it and were so excited to finally be able to.
This is before we left. He looks so handsome in his bow tie.

This picture makes me laugh. Jordan looks huge and Kenzie looks so tiny.

The old house:
Kenzie's old room.

It was fun they wanted to climb in the cupboards like they did when we lived there :)

I told Jackson I have a picture of him sitting in between the fridge and the cupboard. He tried to squeeze back there, but didn't quite fit.

Of course Mackenzie had to try too.

She wants to move back to our old house and cried most of the way home because we're not moving back there. Coleman and Jordan also say they want to live there. Funny kids.
