Ohop Pioneer Village

We went on a field trip to the Ohop Pioneer Farm.
The kids learned all about the chores pioneer children used to do. They also saw the toys they would play with and the clothes they would wear.

Kenzie had her hair curled. They would put something metal into the fire to get it hot enough and then they twisted the hair around it.

Coleman with the pioneer toys.

Kenzie washing the clothes.

Jackson getting the bark off the wood.

Jordan using another tool to get the bark off the branch.

Kenzie milking a cow.

Kenzie and the lamb.

They jumped in the hay.

Jackson petting a pig.

The pig smelled Kenzie's shoes.

I think jumping in the hay was the only part of the field trip Colie actually liked.

School.

Jackson on the wagon ride.

Jordan, in the green shirt, taking his turn.

Kenzie loved riding in the wagon.

We saw how Native Americans lived too.

Jordan trying to braid.

They made arrowheads. Jackson spent most of his time at this part of the tour making his arrowhead really sharp.

Coleman hollowing out a canoe.

They made noodle and bean necklaces.

Jordan drilling.

Jordan put some friendly marks on his cheeks.

Jackson shooting an arrow.

Kenzie with her friendly marks.

Coleman was nervous about shooting the arrow, but once he did it he was so excited.

Warm Day

Jackson dressed up again as some kind of fighter. And he played a game with Coleman. I love when they play games together.

It was pretty warm outside when we came home from swimming lessons one afternoon and the kids wanted to play with the water squirters. They also played in the rainwater in the pool.

Pinewood Derby

Jackson's pinewood derby was in March. Grandpa Riding helped him build his car and Doug helped him add weights. He came in 3rd or 4th (out of 4) in all the races, but he didn't seem to care too much. He had a lot of fun. Grandpa Riding says that next year they'll put the weights on the inside and make it more aerodynamic.

Jack's is the car that didn't make it all the way tot he finish line. On his first race his wheels didn't roll well because the weights were touching them. Doug helped him fix it by gluing the weight to the top.

Silly Kids

Coleman really loves this Angry Birds game!

The kids came in my room dressed like this one morning.

Jordan stuffed a ton of blankets in his jammies.

He kept wanted to show me his muscles.

Kenzie AKA Lucky, Rolly, or Patch

Pippi Longstocking

The day after the ballet we went with some other friends to see the play Pippi Longstocking in Tacoma. It was really good. The kids loved it, and Mackenzie didn't even get wiggly and she almost always does. Jordan and I had went to a show at the Auburn Stake Center the night before where people sang and danced to songs from various musicals. He said out of the ballet, the Auburn Stake Center show, and Pippi Longstocking that Pippi was the best. We couldn't take pictures during the show, but we met the cast afterwards.
Jordan, Micah, and Cassidy with Pippi's father.

Snow White Ballet

The kids and I went with some friend to see the Pacific Northwest Ballet Snow White. It was good. The kids did really well throughout it. I was worried they might get a little bored, but they didn't. It was only an hour and there was some narration during it. Kenzie was a little scared of the witch and whispered to me "they dressed her up like that right?" I told her yes and that she's not really mean, she's just pretending to be. She said "yeah, they're just playing a game."
We couldn't take pictures during the performance, but I got some pictures of the dancers practicing before it started. We got there really early. I wanted to make sure we weren't late, and we weren't :)

Kenzie and Coleman.

Jackson and Jordan.

We played by the water fountain for a little bit, but it was so cold. Kenzie and Jackson are running in this picture. And their friend, Keoni, in the white shirt is behind them. He actually ran in the water and was soaked. He was laughing and loving it, until he realized it was cold when he was done and didn't have a change of clothes.

Jack and Kenzie.

I told Jordan we couldn't leave because I didn't have a picture of him playing yet, so he ran in front of me and told me to take his picture. :)

Cute Coleman sat by me the whole time we were there.
