Jordan's Birthday

Jordan turned 7 and I can't believe it. He's a sweet, loving boy. He is both my most focused child and most easily distracted. He focuses when he's really what he's doing and easily distracted the rest of the time. He loves giving hugs. He loves building things, whether it's with Legos, Knex, or paper when he's doing origami. He hates being teased. He doesn't mind playing by himself. He loves trying to do things when he hears someone else say it's a hard thing to do.We love this boy so much!

We had his family birthday party the Sunday before his birthday. He got a lot of fun presents!

He wanted cake batter fudge for his treat. He doesn't like cake. I think next year we might try some Dairy Queen Ice Cream cake since they don't have any cake in them. That's what Michelle always wanted for her birthday.

Kenzie took some pictures of the card Alli made Jordan.

Cute Coleman.

Jordan's actual birthday:
He wanted to open his presents first thing in the morning. Luckily Doug worked from homes so this could be possible.

I love the look of pure happiness on his face.

Kenzie's present was too big to wrap with wrapping paper so we used a sheet.

He was excited and surprised to get some Legos.

He wanted donuts for breakfast.

He spent as much time as he could playing Legos. He was so excited that it came with instructions to build many different things.

Then we headed to the "new Chuck E. Cheese." (It's really the old once since it's the only one around here that's been around since I was young.)

She was so excited to ride the clock.

Some of our friends met us there. Sean, Mackenzie, and Jordan with Chuck E.

Kenzie, Sean, and Coleman.

Next we went to Cold Stone. Some of our friends met us there. Coleman, Jordan Cole, Jackson, Kenzie, Alex, Sean, Mason.

Silly kids.

Jordan wanted a giant flame in his donut.

I'm glad I captured his angry face :) I think Kenzie may have been blowing towards his candles.

We let Jordan stay up a half hour later with us doing whatever he wanted. He wanted to start making a hat on his new knitting loom.

The next day we went bowling with the Crabtrees. Jordan chose to do this rather than have a birthday party.

Jordan and Doug.

Coleman.

Mackenzie.

Jordan and Sam.

Doug helping Coleman, trying to make his ball roll faster. Sam is bowling in the other lane. She wanted to try it without bumpers so she joined the adults.

Kenzie and Kimber.

Doug, Alli, Ashlee.

Jackson.

We came out from the bowling alley and saw that one of out tires was flat. I was happy to watch Doug change it. Now I kind of feel like I could maybe change it if I needed. Or at least know how to get all the parts I need if some nice person helped me if I got a flat tire.

While we were waiting Mackenzie found an unopened package of binkies in the car and put one in her mouth.

And then gave one to Coleman. They were both so happy to have one for a little while.:)

Our Life

Coleman needed a haircut. This is the before picture.

Kenzie came to get Doug one morning because there was a spider. While taking care of the spider Doug found a hard boiled egg from last Easter buried in out couch. I can't believe we never saw it in there. It didn't stink or anything.

Kenzie wishes she were a dog. She's either drinking water or eating yogurt or a smoothie.

Coleman is always putting his shirt/blanket/stuffed animal in his mouth. So gross.

Jack had to take his standardized test. He did great! He was average or above average in every subject. He was only average in one subject... Social studies. And he got all his science questions right this year. He was pretty excited about his results and decided that homeschooling is great for learning. :)

Coleman loves to play Angry Birds. He does it most mornings when I do homeschool with the boys.

So happy.

We've had some nice days recently and so went outside. The kids wanted to play sidewalk chalk. We traced each other and played tic-tac-toe and just drew.

Jack played in his last basketball game. He scored 2 or 3 baskets in the season. I think that's his most in any of the seasons he's played in. He's a lot more aggressive than he used to be too.

We had his basketball party at McDonalds.

Pompeii

The Science Center had a Pompeii exhibit so we went to see it. I read the Magic Tree House book about Pompeii before going to see it to help the kids know what we were looking at. We also watched a movie about a volcano that erupted in Ancient Greece at the Science Center before going in the exhibit.
It was a special trip because Doug came with us!

They had casts of people who died from the eruption.

Blue and Gold Banquet

Jackson had to make and decorate a cake for the Cub Scout Blue and Gold Banquet. He really enjoyed decorated the cake and was happy with how it turned out. They were supposed to have a scout themed cake. He wanted to make his look like a scout shirt.

Ice Skating

Colie loves games. He asks me most days to play a game with him.

We bought an Amazon Local deal to go ice skating. The Crabtrees came with us.
Mackenzie went around with her cousins for awhile. They wanted to go faster so she tried to go by herself, but didn't really enjoy it. I went around with her twice and then she said she was done.

Jordan went once around the rink, but then decided it was too big and wanted to sit with Coleman and me. He went around a few times later. Coleman skated about 2 feet and then started crying and so we turned around and got off the ice.

Alli and Kimber in this picture near the glass. I don't why I didn't get a picture of Jackson. He loved it and skated the whole time, other than when we ate pizza.
