Snow

It snowed in January for about a week. The beginning of the week we were all sick so we didn't go out in the snow until Thursday I think. By then the first of the snow had started to melt and there had been some rain and then freezing temperatures so it was pretty icy snow when the kids went to play in it. We also lost power that day. Trees and branches were falling all over because they were cover in heavy snow and ice. My dad was picking up my sister and her kids from her house so we had him stop by and pick us up too since we didn't know when we'd get power back on and they have a generator. So we crammed 11 of us in his 7 passenger car and drove for an hour and a half to his house. It usually takes a half hour. We enjoyed their warm house and electricity and of course their company and then my dad took us home the next evening. It was a crazy, long week. The kids and I loved having Doug with us all week though :)

Look how cute the kids are in their snow clothes:

Kenzie didn't really love them after all.

Slipping around on the icy snow.

Doug was a little crazy and went out in shorts and flip flops...

They found some icicles. Kenzie kept asking Jackson to get her some. As soon as he would hand them to her she would throw them on the ground. Sometimes she would then step on them.

We got the kids some Snap Circuits for Christmas. Jordan loves them. He's always asking us to play them with him. He knows he can't do them by himself, so he always says he wants to play a game that grown ups can play, meaning the Snap Circuits. Jordan was happy that since the internet wasn't working Doug couldn't work and was therefore able to play it with him.

Pictures from the last few months of 2011...

Jordan thought our tree skirt was a santa costume. He also has on a santa hat and our stockings.

This is Jack's school picture.

The boys painted some ornaments we made.

We opened a Christmas book each night for the 12 days of Christmas. It was a fun way to count down.

After Christmas Pictures

Here are some pictures from the week after Christmas:

I think this one is actually from before Christmas, but I didn't have any other post to include it in. Jack made the hat for Jordan. They were playing Backyardagins.

This one was before Christmas too. We made some fudge together.

The boys thought it was pretty gross to mix it with their hands.

And another one before Christmas... we made Christmas wreaths out of tissue paper. I remembered making one of these when I was little and so I wanted to do it with them too.

The day after Christmas I was looking in Jordan's stocking and found 2 presents. He was really excited to have 2 more to open.

Jack was a little disappointed that he didn't have anymore to open.

Cute Coleman.

Isn't this thing huge?

Mackenzie got this cute tutu from my parents.

Coleman in one of his Christmas outfits.

We got this one when Jack was a baby. I was excited to have a baby again who could wear it.

Kenzie wanted to lay in this like Jackson. I love how she loves to be like her brothers.

Jack wanted to take his picture with Coleman.

Jack got a science kit from my parents for Christmas and loved doing some of the experiments.

Jack gave these Elf jammies to Coleman.

Jack likes reading The Magic Tree House books.

We store Jack's mariokart track under his bed. It fit perfectly in there. Sometimes he crawls under there and plays with it instead of having us pull it out.

The boys had fun taking the tree out and cutting it in pieces so it could be taken away.

Mackenzie is very dramatic. I see this face often when she doesn't get what she wants. She also tells me to go away pretty often. She also likes to hit when she doesn't get her way.

But she also is cute and sweet and happy a lot too. And she loves her froggy jammies.

We made some gak awhile ago. Jordan loved playing with it.
