Christmas

We had a great Christmas as always. We had 9:00 church so we decided to open presents after church. We didn't let the kids look at their presents before either. Jordan woke up first at 7. Jack woke up about a half hour later and we had to wake Kenzie up. I think Coleman woke up at 7 too. We just kept the boys in our room until breakfast. Then we had them eat upstairs so they wouldn't see anything downstairs. We covered their presents with sheets anyways so they wouldn't have been able to see them... After breakfast we went to church and enjoyed a mostly music sacrament meeting then headed home. We put back on are pajamas and then opened presents. The kids were all so fun this year. Well, I guess Coleman didn't care about what was going on, but he was still cute :). My parents were there for most of the present opening and my sister and her family came for some of it too before they all headed to my sister's ward. We put Kenzie down for a nap and then Doug and I opened presents. After Kenzie woke up we went to Ashlee's house and ate dinner and played games with them and my parents and grandma and grandpa Crabtree. It was a great day! I just love Christmas.

Kenzie's Christmas dress.

Jordan and Jackson's new Christmas outfits.

I think I look really tired... That's what happens when you go to bed after 2 and are up before 7. I do think Coleman slept until around 7 though so it was at least uninterrupted sleep.

Jordan's big Santa present. When he saw it he was so excited and said "Santa did come!

Kenzie was just excited to find some real Lucky Charms with all the play food she got in her shopping cart. She didn't eat much breakfast before church so she was extra hungry. And add that to a girl who already loves sugar and you have a very happy camper. She later went to the table and dumped them all out so she could just eat the marshmallows.

Jackson's Santa present. It's a Mariokart knex race track. It's what he most wanted and was so excited when he saw he got it. I didn't know it was going to be as huge as it is. Or that it would be so time-consuming to put together. It wasn't put together all the way and kept falling apart so we eventually just moved it out of the way until later. It is pretty cool though and Jack loves playing with the Mario and Luigi cars.

Jordan was super cute while he opened presents. With a lot of them he said "This is just what I always wanted!"

Coleman loved his new toy from Santa.

My sister made these crayon roll up things for the kids. They are so cute and my kids love them.

Jordan's pillowcase. I made Jack and Jordan each one. A couple days ago they saw the extra fabric and Jordan said it was his blanket so I let him have for a blanket. Jack giggled and said it was really just fabric not a blanket. Jack got a fleece cars blanket for Christmas that was also just a piece of fabric and so I told him his was also just a piece of fabric. He just said "oh." :)

The other most wanted thing on Jack's wishlist was hotwheels. My parents gave 2 sets to him. He was very excited.

Kenzie found some candy after finishing her Lucky Charms marshmallows. Can you tell that she still has all her presents waiting to be opened and the boys were completely done and had moved on to opening Coleman's presents and the family presents?

Finally she started opening presents. After each present she just wanted to play with it and didn't care about the other presents.

Dora was a big theme to her presents.

My parents kept Colie happy by holding him a lot. He definitely loves being held.

Coleman loves his new toys. I think this one is pretty fun too. You pull the duck down then it shakes and goes up. It's entertaining...

This is his new favorite toy though. It lights up and plays music. It keeps him happy when no other toy will.

This is Kenzie's new Dora doll house. My sister found it at a garage sale she was doing with her friends and new Kenzie would love it. And Kenzie does love it. She plays with it often and loves pushing the buttons that make noise. There's a boombox that plays music and Kenzie likes dancing to it. It's really cute. My dad helped Kenzie open the rest of her presents by handing her new ones and convincing her to open it instead of playing with her new fun toys.

Kenzie was so excited to get these Dora blocks. My dad handed her a new present shortly after she opened it and she opened the other present which was clothes inside an Amazon box. When she saw the Amazon box she said it was daddy's. I told her it wasn't and helped her see what was inside. She looked at the clothes and pulled one out. Then turned back to the Dora blocks and I told her there were more clothes so she pulled one out and we did that pattern a couple times until she just grabbed all the clothes out of the box and through them on the carpet and then said "open it!" It was pretty funny. I have it all on video. I might put it on the blog.

Kenzie got some dress up clothes and necklaces. She loves her crown and princess shoes (which she calls crocs) and wears them often.

Alli, Konrad, Ashlee, and Grandma Riding.

I don't know what they are doing in this picture, but I think it's a really cute picture for some reason.

Kenzie eating some Froot Loops.

The boys were so sweet about sharing their cereal with her.

The aftermath. Our house was a disaster for awhile after. But that's okay. Because it was for Christmas.

Christmas Eve

For Christmas Eve we let the kids open their Christmas jammies that they get every year and then we headed to my parents' house for the day. Ashlee and her family were there for some of the day. We played games and decorated cookies. My mom cooked a fabulous dinner, as always, and then we read the real Christmas story and sang carols. The kids (and us...) were so excited it was finally Christmas Eve.

Coleman wore this cute Santa costume. He's looks pretty cute in it, don't you think?

Kenzie opening her Christmas jammies. Aren't they cute? I think they're the best pants I've made so far. I was going to try to make shirts this year, but I didn't have enough fabric to even attempt to make them. But I found some cute Grinch shirts that matched really well.

Cute Colie.

Jordan got to his the pinata first this year because Mackenzie was to scared to at the beginning.

After seeing that it wasn't so scary Kenzie gave it a try.

Here's some picture of the kids in their Christmas jammies. There are several, but I couldn't narrow it down any further :)
Jordan with his arms around Jack and Kenzie. Jordan and Kenzie are looking at Coleman. Jackson did amazing during these pictures. I think for everyone he is looking at the camera and smiling. That never happens!

The best one!

A new pose. Jordan's face cracks me up.
Cute Coleman again.

Gingerbread Houses

In December we made gingerbread houses. Each of the 3 older kids and Doug made one. I was the helper.

Jackson loved decorating his house. It was his idea to put the flat graham cracker on top of the slanted roof. He loves doing holiday things.

Colie enjoyed watching.

Kenzie decorated for a little while, then just wanted to eat the candy. Especially the suckers.

Jordan also loved making his house. He liked Jack's idea of putting the top piece on and so wanted to add it to his house too. He wanted to stay nice and warm by wearing a snow suit over his church clothes. Or maybe he just wanted to keep his church clothes clean...

Doug tried to make interlocking pieces by biting pieces of each graham cracker so they would fit inside of each other. It didn't work though. So he had to start over with non-bitten pieces.
