Kenzie is 2!

Kenzie is now 2! I can't believe it. I think she had a great birthday. After taking Jack to school, Jordan, Kenzie, Coleman, and I went to the park. It was raining a little on our way there and so I tried to convince her to choose to go play at the mall instead, but she still wanted to go to the park. It had stopped raining by the time we got there, but everything was wet and it did start raining again while we were there. But the kids still loved it. Later, after Kenzie's nap, we went to Pizza Hut for dinner. Then we went to Jack's soccer practice. When we got back home we had the rest of the cupcakes and she blew out the candles. She was so excited to have more cupcake.

Getting ready to take Jack to school.

Kenzie on the bridge at the park. One of the bad things about it being wet was that I was worried that Kenzie (or Jordan) would slip up on the play thing.

Happy Colie.

Cute Jordie.

Jordan wanted me to take a picture of him on this thing. And for once the back of his shorts are wet from actual water, not from having an accident...

They spent most of the time swinging.

Jordan by the giant mitt.

Kenzie's really into sticking her tongue out for pictures. Especially that day.

Relaxing on the way home.

waiting...

getting excited...

the first time she blew, the flame didn't go out. She looked up so confused.

But tried again and was successful and so excited.

I don't know why, but I love this picture.

Crazy Jack

Here's some things about Kenzie:
Weighs about 24 lbs.
She says ooh ooh ah ah (monkey sounds) a lot. She often says it when I go get her up in the morning. At her birthday party she kept saying it over and over.
When she can't do something, she'll say "I can't." It's super cute.
If you ask how old she is, she usually says she's 3 or 4.
She likes to say she's Dora.
She loves Dora.
She's really into changing her clothes. She has a skirt that she loves to put on and will often take her pants off so that she can wear it. She also loves some of her pajama pants.
She loves washing her hands.
She's been learning the letters and the sounds they make and does ok at them. I think with most letters she either knows the name or the sound and with some she knows both.
When she wants to do something she says "I will!"
She doesn't like going to bed anymore and whenever we talk about it, she says "no bed!" At Jack's soccer practice last week another mom was saying her daughter was ready for bed and Kenzie got big eyes and looked at me and said "no bed." It was funny.
She loves oatmeal, blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, and most anything sugary and chocolatey.
Whenever I'm eating waffles she has to have some bites. Even if she has her own.
She doesn't know the colors, but she's trying really hard to figure them out.
She loves reading books.
She likes people to sing songs to her. But usually the songs she chooses. If we sing something she doesn't want us to sing she keeps saying no until we stop.
She glares at us a lot.
She likes to hit. Who would have thought that it would be my daughter that I've had the hardest time teaching to not hit?
She'll keep doing things to bother her brothers until they ask her nicely to stop.
Sometimes when we kiss her she says "don't kiss me."
She likes a drink in bed before she goes to sleep. She uses a a Dora cup and likes to look at Dora and sometimes the other characters on it and often ends up spilling some of the water.
She likes bubble baths.
She loves peanut butter. When I make the kids' sandwiches for lunch she likes to stand on the stool next to me and try to get some peanut butter off of the bread onto her fingers so she can it it. She does the same thing with the honey too.
To get her to go happily upstairs to bed we usually ask her if she wants to run, walk, jump, or fly to bed.
When we ask what she did in nursery (or really anytime...) she says she played with 3 of the boys in nursery and sometimes she also includes Jordan in who she played with.
She likes to get her way. If she doesn't she cries...
If she doesn't want to go somewhere she'll just refuse to walk. She doesn't care if we start going without her. She's my first child that doesn't seem to mind if she's not around the rest of us when we're out. She probably just knows we'd never leave her :)
She's cute. And we love her.

Early Boy

Jordan is a morning person. One day I heard him get up and go downstairs around 7:15. He's not supposed to get out of bed until 8, but he doesn't like to obey that rule (or most others...) so he got went downstairs. This is how I found him:

Hiding between our couch and chair, dressed as Luigi.

He makes a cute Luigi.

When I asked him what he was doing downstairs he said "I saw it was day." and when I reminded him we're not supposed to get up until 8, he said "But I'm not tired anymore." I couldn't really argue with that logic (plus I didn't want him to wake Jack up, who really does need sleep) so I let him stay up.

Hair Cuts

We gave the boys hair cuts a few weeks ago. They actually started the process by cutting each others and their own hair with scissors. It wasn't too noticeable (especially on Jack) but we still cut their hair.

Before:

Looks like he had a mullet...

During Jordan's:

After
Jordan looks much more grown up with is hair short.

Puyallup Fair

We went to the Puyallup Fair a few weeks ago. The kids had a blast. We only were there a few hours because we wanted to get home to get the kids in bed since it was a school night. Right when we got in there were a ton of workers taking pictures of everyone that they try to sell you later (which they also did at Sea World...) The girl that was trying to take a picture of our family was trying to get all the kids to look at her. It was pretty funny. She'd get one to look then the others would look away. She kept calling them Girl or Boy. We told her it wasn't likely they were all going to look at her at the same time. She may have been trying to get them to all smile at her too... I don't remember. After that we ate some dinner and the kids went on rides and we looked at few animals on our way out. I was sad we didn't stay very long. Next year I think I want to go on a Saturday or have Doug and the kids miss a day of school and work to go so we can do everything we want to.

Don't you love her outfit? I thought it was perfect for a fair :) A lot of people kept commenting on how cute she is.

Kenzie really wanted to go on these cars, but the sign said she wasn't tall enough. But then we saw a lot of kids her size going on them with older siblings. But by the time we saw that she wasn't as sad any more so we still didn't have her go on it. The kids have to ride in pairs so it would have been tricky to work it out. They boys liked it though.

The lines for the rides seems so long. I think we waited in line at these rides longer than we waited in most lines when we were at Disneyland. The car one was especially bad.

We couldn't decided if Jordan liked this ride or not. He seemed like he was half smiling/half laughing most of the time. I'm not sure why he didn't love it.

Jackson in the petting zoo. He used to be afraid to go up to the animals by himself. He's getting so big...

Kenzie would only go near the little bunny. She's pretty afraid of the animals.

We got a picture last year or the year before of Doug with a horse named Doug and we saw it (or another one named Doug) again this year so we had to get another picture.

Kenzie's Birthday Party

We had Kenzie's birthday party on Sept. 18. Grandma and grandpa Riding and the Crabtrees came. Kenzie was pretty excited about all of it. She kept requesting my help for opening presents and loved everything she got. She was really excited about having cake. She loves sweets.

Jackson and Jordan had fun helping decorate while Kenzie was napping.

We've had these hats since Jack turned 1. We only have 2 left, but the boys love them. Actually only Jack does. But Jordie likes trying them on.

Doug was kind enough to make some quesadillas for dinner.

Present Time!

I love her facial expressions. She has so many.

This face was for when she saw M&ms. She was so excited.

Can you tell she loves Dora? She has Dora jammies on (she got a cute Dora night gown too), a Dora water bottle, a Dora doll, and a Dora fold up chair.

Robin came to the party too. He's with Kimber.

I didn't do anything fancy for her cake this year. They never look as great as I envision and I thought she'd like chocolate frosting better than any other kind. She love it.

Watching her candles and cake while we sing.

It only took one blow to blow them out.
